At midnight on 21 December 1979, over 500 people eagerly waited outside a studio in Norwood, when the gentle voice of Mandy Salomon broke through the silence on 103.3 MHZ.
Three D Radio was born.
Known then as 5MMM, the Station launched towards its mandate for broadcasting progressive contemporary music to the people of Adelaide with Mandy’s first words, and the sweet sounds of 801 Live and The Masters Apprentices…
A lot has happened since 1979. Bands have launched on to the international scene; the Station has changed its name, its home, its frequency; announcers have come and gone. But the Station lives on!
And it’s all because of you. Three D Radio is 100% volunteer run, and we need your support to stay on air. Subscribe to Three D during Radiothon and support the station, and share in some great prizes!
Here’s to another 40 years of bloody good music. (At least!)
